About this event

Celebrating stories, storytellers, and the power of the written word

Generously brought to you by the Friends of the Library, the Cape Fear Book Festival is a community-centered celebration of books, reading, and creativity. Held annually in Wilmington, North Carolina, the festival brings together readers, writers, and literary enthusiasts for a vibrant series of events that include author talks, panel discussions, writing workshops, storytelling sessions, and more.

Events start at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the New Hanover County Arboretum with North Carolina author Georgann Eubanks, who recently published her sixth book with UNC Press. The free kickoff includes a talk, question-and-answer session and signing.

Join us November 21-22 at the Main Library for our 2026 two-day literary extravaganza. Connect with fellow bookworms, authors, and writers from all genres. Celebrate the magic of words in this festival’s third year.
