The Thanksgiving Project

About this event

We at Myrtle Grove have been doing this ministry every Thanksgiving for over 30 years now. We have partnered with Meals on Wheels to bless both the people in need and the volunteers who normally prep and deliver meals.

On Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, we have volunteers bring in fully cooked turkeys that are ready to carve, and then we carve and package the turkey, as well as pumpkin pie, gravy, rolls, and cranberry sauce.

Then, on Thanksgiving day, we package all the individual pieces, as well as a few other goodies, into meal boxes that are made ready to deliver. We then have volunteers that go around Wilmington delivering these meals.

We are looking for Volunteers in 5 very important jobs:

• Cooking and Bringing in a Turkey

• Carving and Packaging

• Packaging Meals

• Delivering Meals

• And most importantly, Praying for this ministry, the volunteers, and the people who will be receiving these meals
